Eww... 2020 Playlist

Throughout the course of 2020, I found myself struck by the lyrics or titles to a variety of songs seeming to fit in perfectly to this dystopian 2020 reality.

I thought, why not collect them, and share with you this irreverent, tongue-in-cheek playlist.

In honor of this unusually schitty year, I present to you, via Spotify - the "Eww... 2020" Playlist.

In no particular order - here are the songs that felt appropriate for this playlist:

Fever - Peggy Lee
Road to Nowhere - Talking Heads
Our House - Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (we're all spending lots of time here...)
Our House - Madness (couldn't resist adding this 80's hit right along with the CSNY tune of the same name)
No Particular Place To Go - Chuck Berry (I've often thought of this song when I left the house just to take a drive in my car)
Dust in the Wind - Kansas (wear a mask to protect against particles in the wind!)
Glory - Common, John Legend (we have a long way to go... Black Lives Matter)
Everyday Is Like Sunday - The Team Party (Morrissey cover)
We Take Care of Our Own - Bruce Springsteen (Biden Campaign Anthem!)
Batches & Cookies - Lizzo, Sophia Eris (vintage Lizzo; I've adopted as a love song to the gooey cookies and comfort food I've eaten this year)
End of The World - Herman's Hermits (some days felt like this year couldn't get worse...)
Teach Your Children - Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (for those of you educating children in unique ways this year)
Infected - Bad Religion (hopefully you haven't gotten infected)
IV. Sweatpants (not safe for work / children) - Childish Gambino (everyone's favorite work from home pants)
Gimme Shelter - The Rolling Stones (shelter-in-place)
Time Will Tell - Blood Orange (memorable tune from the We Are Who We Are / HBO soundtrack)
Dreams - Fleetwood Mac (any 2020 playlist needs this song & some Cran-Raz, no?)
Holding Out for a Hero - Bonnie Tyler (Reminds me of the 2020 campaign season)
Higher Ground - Stevie Wonder (calls to mind Global Warming *not a hoax*)
Break My Stride - Matthew Wilder (just keep going, just keep going...)
From a Distance - Bette Midler (from 6+ feet, specifically...)
Dancing in the Moonlight - Toploader (it was so nice socializing outdoors in the moonlight with so many of y'all this summer)
Stuck With You - Huey Lewis & The News (should be called Stuck *At Home* With You for 2020)
Disappointing - John Grant (this whole year has been disappointing)
Sick of Myself - Matthew Sweet (for when you are tired of your own company)
Times Like These - Foo Fighters
